Description
Looking for someone to work one on one with my almost 12 yr old daughter with intellectual delays. She needs help with social skills, life skills (such as cooking/baking/chores), etc. We need help filling her day! She has a Life Plan with goals that you would be focusing on.
This position is funded through OPWDD Self Direction through AIM. 10 hrs per week are available at $17/hr and possibly 3 more hours of Respite at $16/hr. We homeschool, so hours are flexible. She is sweet, super social and wants to be on the go! She loves horses, dogs, people, baking & cooking, "doing hair", some crafts, parks, ice skating, scooters. She gravitates towards energetic young females and needs someone who understands anxiety and can help her understand those feelings.
Some experience with special needs preferred, either work or life experience. Willingness to learn about her diagnosis required.
Essential Functions:
1) Skills development
2)Activities for daily living such as cooking, baking, chores, etc
3)Community based activities
4)Community integration and participation
Experience and Qualifications:
-Must be at least 20 years of age.
-Must have a Social Security number.
-Perform tasks as stated on the Individualized Staff Action Plan or provide Respite.
-Be willing and able to complete an application and other forms. These forms include health screening, fingerprint screening and a criminal background check.
-Complete all required training through OPWDD and AIM Independent Living Center.
