Description
I have one 40 gallon reptile tank (made for reptiles & has housed reptiles, not suitable for fish) that I'm not able to take with me during my upcoming move. In the past it has housed hermit crabs and baby leopard geckos, but has been empty for a year or so. I would rather give it to someone that can use it than just throw it away.
There are no cracks, and the sliding screen top is integrated into the tank itself. Could use a dab of vegetable oil to make it easier to open & close. The screen is rip-free and has tab so that you can lock it closed if needed (useful if you have kids or cats, etc.). There are velcro tabs, like you'd pick up at a hardware store, on the bottom that helped secure the repti-carpet I was using. There are a few spots (I believe a bit on the side, a bit on the back, and bottom) with some discoloration when there were heat pads attached with black electrical tape, but it's really not major.
Overall, I'd say that the tank is in good condition, and I wouldn't (personally) hesitate to use it again, if I could. Though it has admittedly become dusty and will need to be cleaned before use.
I am disabled now and I CANNOT help carry the tank out myself anymore. Whoever would like this terrarium will need to come pick it up from where I have it stored inside my apartment, but it's a very short distance to the front door, with no indoor stairs. I live in a 3rd floor apartment, and you will need 2 people to carry the tank down the stairs safely. Please please please wear a mask when you come to pick up & are in my apartment, I and my mother will do the same.
