Established in the early 80’s our company is a leading provider of landscape materials, nursery products and building supplies in California. We are looking to hire a fulltime shop lead to be in charge of the day-to-day operations of our location to include the coordination of staffing, scheduling, and can provide sound leadership at our location in Pomona, CA. The shop lead's responsibilities include, oversight of crews, enforcing company policies, adhering to safety regulations, and managing administrative duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have excellent people leadership skills and a good understanding of business operations. This position is on site and is based in Pomona. They will report to the President of the company. California Employers Association (CEA) is the recruiter for this position. Shop Lead Responsibilities: • Hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating employees • Preparing crew work schedules • Addressing employee disputes, questions, and concerns • Ensuring all staff adheres to safety standards, company policies, and procedures • Ordering, recording, and managing inventory • Ensuring the shop is stocked, clean, and visually appealing • Motivating employees to reach their goals • Equipment maintenance and repairs • Oversight of PM programs (preventative maintenance) • Oversight of BIT (CHP Safety Program) • Assisting with fleet budget/costs, purchases and payroll reporting for crews Shop Lead Qualifications: • High school diploma/GED required • Experience in a management or shop position is a plus • Strong leadership skills • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to maintain accurate record keeping • Has sound mechanical skills • Possesses conflict resolution and decision making skills • Maintains a strong employee focus • Takes initiative and is a hands on leader who understands that no job is too small • Is computer literate • Is familiar with heavy equipment • Has the ability to maintain quality control as required Compensation and Benefits: • Annual salary up to 90K DOE • Employer sponsored medical, dental, and vison for employee and family • PTO and PSL To apply: If you are up to this challenge, we invite you to apply for this position.
