A wine/beer walk is a unique event that aims to expose local independent businesses to participants by offering small samplings of wine or beer at each location.  The general idea is that participants take their time to browse, do some shopping, grab a bite to eat, or learn about services offered while enjoying samples of wine or beer.  You must consume your wine sample inside the business where you receive the beer or wine sample. You cannot take beer or wine onto the public sidewalks or streets. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? All attendees must be 21 years of age by the date of the event.  IDs will be checked at registration.   What are my transport/parking options? If you don't have a designated driver, Downtown Waukesha is served by both Lyft and Uber as well as Best Cab Company (call 262-549-6622 for a cab). Waukesha Metro Transit also has several bus routes and has service until 9:15 on Saturday evenings. Click here for route and schedule information. There is also plenty of available free on-street and surface lot parking downtown. The South Street parking ramp offers free 2-hour parking with a small fee of $3 to park for the rest of the day! Click here for a downloadable pdf map. What can/can't I bring to the event? Can: Water, small backpack, snacks, camera, money for shopping, and a great attitude. Can't: Children, babies, pets, bottles, cans, or carry-in alcohol. Do dress appropriately for the weather! It may be chilly, or even rainy. Be prepared. Who can I contact with any questions? Email us at [email protected] Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? We accept printed tickets and etickets on your phone. What is the refund policy? This event will be held Rain or Shine- However we do allow refunds up to 7 days before the event. What about COVID-19? In order to provide a safe environment for our attendees and host sites we have made the decision to use small sample size disposable cups at each location instead of the traditional glassware we have used before. Some business may have their own COVID-19 precautions such as capacity limits, requiring masks, or masks for unvaccinated attendees. Any of these will be noted in the Wauk-Tober Passport handed out at the event. Please respect their wishes and abide buy each store's policy. Harassment and verbal abuse will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the event. The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay? Yes, you may transfer your ticket, but all attendees must be at least 21. Presented by the City of Waukesha and City of Waukesha Chamber of Commerce.
