The 26th Annual Fannie Lou Hamer Awards Reception will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, 4PM at the historic Banneker-Douglass Museum. On Sunday, October 3 , 2021, 4PM, twelve (12) phenomenal women will be honored to receive the prestigious 26th Annual Fannie Lou Hamer Awards at the historic Banneker-Douglass Museum, 84 Franklin Street, Annapolis, Maryland. Each year the event, sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr. Committee of Annapolis, recognizes women from various racial backgrounds, who like the late legendary icon Fannie Lou Hamer has made a difference in their community. To preserve the legacy of Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement by creating memorials and having two events a year, the Fannie Lou Hamer Reception, which honors women of various racial backgrounds and the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Dinner.
