Description
We made eye contact and maybe smiled through our masks as I rolled out of a truck and you stood alone, up above, on the balcony in a bold Canadian tuxedo. Later, I was embarrassed by my surprise as I’d slid into place right next to you, looking down to the street for my friend. Later, we waved goodbye as I walked down the stairs. And even later, we waved goodbye again as I rushed passed you to catch the ferry and you were on the phone, gracefully in a way I didn’t know was possible.
