The Heritage Music Series brings the Appalachian Sounds of Sean Whiting, Adam Chaffins, and Dave Shoemaker to London, Kentucky. The Heritage Music Series brings the Appalachian sounds of Sean Whiting, Adam Chaffins, and Dave Shoemaker to the Heritage Music Series in London, Kentucky. During their intimate acoustic performance, each will share their stories and songs, as well as some laughter collectively. Sean Whiting of Paintsville has a power vocal that pulls from his influences of the great rock and blues acts of the 60’s through the 90’s. Sean’s music is saturated with an almost swampy feeling of the south and a unique blend of soul, blues, and rock. With 25 years of writing and performing under his belt, Sean has a commanding stage presence that is both entertaining and electrifying. Having only embarked on a full time solo career a few years ago, Sean has 2 full length albums and an E.P. under his belt with another full length album in the works and has toured in support of them extensively throughout the region and Midwest. Adam Chaffins of Louisa finds his inspiration in diverse musical styles and personal experiences. Creating a new lane of country and Americana music laced with tinges of R&B and indie rock, his multi-genre sound is distinctive while being comfortably familiar. His debut solo album, Some Things Won’t Last, released February 2020, was born from the constant evolution of Chaffins’ music, honoring past experiences while always moving forward. Wide Open Country praised the nine-song album as “everything from fuzz-toned, drum-driven rockers to ballads laced with symphonic swells, not to mention a gorgeous cover of Keith Whitley's ‘I'm Over You’.” He has been featured on CMT, as well as on NPR. Dave Shoemaker grew up in Bell County learning a love for bluegrass and mountain music from his Pap and an eclectic pallet of musical taste was born from there. Dave started writing his own material, where he began to pull from those life experiences and stories. He started out writing short stories as a creative outlet but it didn’t take long for the songwriter in him to take the lead and start writing his own songs. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided by Old Town Grill. All ages are allowed to attend.
