A beautiful fall walk for both newbies and seasoned FreeWalkers alike.
Bring family and friends to enjoy being outdoors together.
Stroll through seven charming and historical New Jersey communities. This is one of our most popular walks.
Meet us (look for the FreeWalkers banner) outside the NJ Transit Morristown Train Station. We’ll walk for 14 miles following the Midtown Direct Train line to our final destination, Maplewood Village. Do as much or as little as you like. This is a great walk for both new and experienced FreeWalkers as well. If you think you may decide to leave before the end, that's quite OK.
Weekend trains run once an hour so check ahead for NJ Transit schedule for each town. Turn-by-turn directions will be provided at the start or can be emailed ahead of time by request.
There are plenty of food and bathroom stops along the way. If you get tired and had enough can catch the train, call a friend or Uber and meet us in Maplewood for food and drink - location TBA. It's all about fun, friends and fitness. Feel free to share this invitation. Children (with parents) welcome as well.
Why Walk? Because we can.
Risa Olinsky of Maplewood and David Ascher of South Orange will lead this event. Both long time FreeWalkers and board members, are happy to answer any questions you may have - phone #'s below.
