In Celebration of The Japan/Jazz Connection: The Akiko Tsuruga Trio Akiko Tsuruga-organ, Bob Kenmotsu-sax, Lewis Nash-drums This show presents two Japanese jazz stars in a trio setting with jazz’s quintessential rhythm master, Lewis Nash.  Organist Akiko Tsuruga has been described as “Sweet and Funky”, “Cute and Bad” and “A composer and performer extraordinaire.”  The legendary Dr. Lonnie Smith says: “Akiko’s playing is like watching a flower blooming, a bird spreading her wings in the music world.”  Saxophonist Bob Kenmotsu has a deeply personal and original way of playing that grooves and swings, and the incomparable Lewis Nash on drums brings his unmistakable pulse to the band.
