Keyboard and/or Guitarist Wanted
Meets
Tucson AZ
Description
I belong to a music project that just finished tracking an EP and is looking for two additional members to join the lineup to start playing shows. The project started with a metal emphasis but ultimately centered around alternative music given the diverse background of the group. The lead singer / guitarist #2 has played in bands which have played around town, the drummer was once part of a touring band with published albums under his belt, and the bass player studied jazz and music theory academically in Seattle. The combined experiences and knowledge of the group fosters something of an amalgamation of genres and we’re hoping to find members that will help us continue that process. We will be holding auditions for a keyboard player and a guitarist to join us for the remainder of September and halfway through October. We genuinely don’t care who you are (man, woman, etc) as long as you can meet the following criteria: -Most of the music is easy to learn, but keyboard players and guitar players looking to join should understand our music contains solos that are particularly difficult to play. A certain skill level is required in order to join. For those in the musical know-how, the keys used on the EP are C minor, Bb Minor, F minor, and D Major. -The whole band derives their musical inspiration from different genres. Muse, Bring me the Horizon, Miles Davis, The Weekend, Post Malone… there’s a lot of ideas that get thrown into the mix. Our music has heavy guitars and drums but also analog synthesizers and heavy electronic samples. If you like to stick strictly to one genre, this may not be the best option for you. -Your own gear is kind of a given requirement—at the very least your own essential pieces (your own guitar/ amp, keyboard, etc). -Music theory knowledge is a plus, but not required. Only one of us knows it but he needs friends. Now if you’ve made it this far and meet the criteria, we’re going to take a shot in the dark and say you’ve likely been a part of the same old song and dance— you’ve found or heard of bands that say they’re dead serious about making music but suffer from the same unorganized and unproductive fallouts in the end. It’s certainly not an unusual story, so there’s no reason to upsell this project in that light. We’re just some people that genuinely enjoy the challenge of making dope music. If you find yourself looking for a similar challenge, feel free to submit some of your own work and inquire. For auditions, we will send you an excerpt of our last track, titled “Drown”, which contains a challenging solo that will help showcase your ability. We’ll provide tabs and sheet music if you are interested in joining and will set up the audition at an appropriate time following the inquiry. If you can play it, you’ll have absolutely no issues playing anything else on the EP. We meet up in South Tucson. Looking forward to hearing from you!
