A neighborhood conversation on public safety and the Minneapolis charter amendments
We Can’t Go Back: a neighborhood conversation on safety and the charter amendmentsThe murder of George Floyd in 2020 confirmed what many in our community have known to be true for years: our system of policing is failing our city and has caused too much harm.
We’re ready for accountability and transformation.
Neighbors in the Folwell School area have been wrestling since last summer with how we can reimagine a system of public safety to ensure that regardless of whether you’re black, brown, or white, you are safe in this city and can thrive. This election, we have a chance to move towards that vision.
Join us for a conversation and presentation about the upcoming charter amendments. We’ll discuss how the amendment creates the conditions for us to build a system of public safety that expands our resources and removes roadblocks to accountability. And we’ll have space to address real concerns and fears.
If you’re curious, confused, hopeful, or want to learn more about the proposed amendments and how the changes affect all of our communities, you’re invited!
