VENICE, FL — There were no injuries reported after a small plane crashed at the Lake Venice Golf Club Tuesday morning, the city of Venice shared on Facebook. Just before 10 a.m., a Cessna 172 plane experienced engine trouble while flying above Venice. The pilot was able to get the plane on the ground at the golf club, which is located at 1801 Harbor Drive S., just west of the Venice Municipal Airport, the city said. The plane landed upside down. Neither of the two people aboard were injured in the crash. Venice police, fire rescue and airport staff responded to the crash and the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.
