Join us for the National Public Lands Day Celebration at Grey Towers National Historic Site, also well-known as the Ice Cream Social
Join us and bring the whole family along for the National Public Lands Day (NPLD) Celebration at Grey Towers National Historic Site, also well-known as the Ice Cream Social at Grey Towers.
This year we will be celebrating outdoors (no indoor activities) with music, culture, kids’ activities, movement classes, and, of course: ice cream! Confirmed performers include the Scott Weis Band, Tenor Jesús Daniel Hernández, and Mariachi Hidalgo.
This event is FREE but you must register here to attend.
Please note that we will be enforcing COVID-19 protocols (including mask-wearing, social distancing, and small groups) for the safety of our community and those who are still unvaccinated.
National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation’s largest, single-day volunteer event for public lands. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in September, NPLD is a “fee-free day,”—meaning entrance fees are waived at national parks, national forests, and other participating federal lands.
Every year, NPLD brings together hundreds of thousands of individual and organizational volunteers to help restore the country’s public lands. Our public lands are special places that Americans use for outdoor recreation, education, and relaxation. Public lands include national parks, monuments, wildlife refuges, forests, grasslands, marine sanctuaries, lakes, and reservoirs, as well as state, county, and city parks that are managed by public agencies.
