Supervisory Responsibilities: • Supervise and provide leadership to volunteers and partner families on HFHCC work sites from beginning to project completion with certificate of occupancy for new builds or completion of repairs. • Treat partner families with respect and dignity. Work closely with Homeowners Services Coordinator to make partner families’ involvement in the construction process meaningful • Ensure that volunteers consistently have positive and productive volunteer experiences • Identify volunteer leaders and provide appropriate training and leadership • Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed on and off HFHCC work sites Duties & Responsibilities • Ensures all tools and materials are present at job sites • Works with Homeowner Services Coordinator in homeowner materials selection process (i.e. siding, carpet, vinyl, flooring, countertops, cabinets, etc.) • Assists construction Manager as required in obtaining necessary building permits (retrieve/attain any information needed to do so) • Coordinates and schedules subcontractors and deliveries of all building materials needed to build homes in a timely and organized fashion • Updates material takeoffs as necessary on each project to ensure accuracy • Updates subcontractor schedules with any repair or item not completed per their contract with HFHCC • Ensures that all code inspections are passed at the appropriate time and that any issues are remedied in a time fashion - maintains positive relationships with building inspectors • Assists Construction Manager in addressing warranty issues, following all established processes • Ensures necessary equipment, supplies and vehicles are appropriately inventoried, maintained and prepared as needed for project usage • Provides periodic project updates to Construction Manager ensuring awareness of issues affecting project timeline, dedication and closing • Provides brief welcome, safety orientation and sign-in for all workday volunteers – work with Volunteer Coordinator on site (when available) in handling these duties • Checks or arranges for all deliveries to be checked against purchase orders and reports discrepancies. • Upon project completion, handles walkthrough with homeowner and goes over operation of all mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems. Gives homeowner all documentation for appliances and systems and provides office with copies • Other duties as assigned and required Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction or a related field. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
