AUSTIN, TX — Two Austin ISD schools were placed on lockdown for more than an hour after reports of armed subjects.
AISD Police Chief Ashley Gonzalez said in a tweet Friday both Murchison Middle School, which is located at 3700 N Hills Drive and Northeast Early College High School at 7104 Berkman Drive, were placed on secure while officers investigated the scene.

Murchison went into lockdown at 1:51 p.m. and Northeast followed about 10 minutes later at 2:01 p.m. Murchison was released after 30 minutes, with no reports of weapons being found.
At 2:39 p.m., Gonzalez said both campuses were deemed safe and released from "secure" and have resumed normal operations.
