WARREN COUNTY, NJ — In remembrance of four Warren County residents who died on Sept. 11, 2001, as well as the 13 members of the U.S. military who were killed in Afghanistan recently, Warren County is hosting a 20th anniversary Sept. 11 event to honor them. WRNJ reports that the Warren County Emergency Services 9/11 Committee is coordinating the event at the Warren County Emergency Services and 9/11 Memorial, which is located near Franklin Township at 1500 Route 57, on Warren County Community College's access road. As part of the event, planned for 2 p.m. on Saturday, four Warren County residents will be remembered, who died at the World Trade Center: Deepa K. Pakkala of Greenwich Township, Bruce A Reynolds who worked with the Port Authority and was a Knowlton Fireman, Bruce E. Simmons of Hackettstown and Robert C. Miller, Jr. of Belvidere. New Jersey Sen. Steve Oroho, R-24th Dist., Assemblyman John DiMaio R-23rd Dist. and Warren County Commissioner Lori Ciesla, are expected to be keynote speakers. Additionally happening in Warren County on Saturday, Hope Volunteer Fire Department plans to unveil its 9/11 Memorial. The unveiling is expected to happen at the firehouse on 416 Hope Blairstown Road in Hope at 10 a.m., with refreshments for attendees after the unveiling. Hackettstown's 9/11 Remembrance is additionally planned at the 9/11 Monument in Hackettstown by the Municipal Building on 215 West Stiger Street. Having hosted an event earlier in the week, House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown placed 2,977 flags on their lawn, in memory of each of the people who died on Sept. 11, 2001.
