MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A South Bay police officer helped save a baby who was choking outside of an In-N-Out Burger in Mountain View on Monday. Officer Garcia, who was writing up a separate incident in the parking lot across the street from the burger spot on Rengstorff Avenue around 7:45 p.m., received a call about a baby boy choking and ran over to help. After he determined that the baby was not breathing or moving, Garcia performed CPR and did chest compressions for several minutes until the baby began breathing again. The Mountain View Fire Department also arrived on scene for follow-up care. The baby was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was released back to his family. "I am so proud of the quick actions that were taken to help this littlest Mountain View resident," Mountain View Police Chief Chris Hsiung said. "It is a good feeling to know we have someone like Officer Garcia ever ready to help our community in a time of need."
