Arvada, CO, September 18 - Ed Brady, current Deputy Chief of Police for the City of Arvada has announced his candidacy to be the next Sheriff of Jefferson County. JeffCoSheriff Jeff Shrader has endorsed Ed’s candidacy as his term is ending in November 2022. Sheriff Shrader is hosting his annual Pig Roast Fundraiser for Ed Brady on Saturday, September 18th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at 5630 Ward Road, Arvada, CO. “The end of my term in office as Sheriff is quickly coming to a close,” says Sheriff Shrader. “Ed is a dedicated law enforcement professional with the experience to keep JeffCo safe. I have full trust, faith and confidence in Ed Brady to be the next Sheriff of Jefferson County.” A graduate of Mullen High School, Colorado State University and with a Masters Degree in Public Administration from CU Denver, Ed Brady began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with the City of Arvada in 1994. Brady has held the roles of Detective, Sergeant, Commander and served as Interim Chief of Police for the Arvada Police Department over his career. Brady and his wife Cathleen, a JeffCo Public SchoolsPrincipal, raised their 2 sons and 2 daughters in JeffCo and are active in local organizations such as Kiwanis, Boy Scouts of America and their local church. “I am running because I want to keep JeffCo safe for all who live here,” says Brady. “ We can ensure that our Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office remains a professional organization. We must continue to work with and build on our relationships with community and faith based organizations across the county to find innovative solutions for our most challenging problems.
