Press release from the Wright County Government:
September 9, 2021
The weekly U.S. Drought Monitor has been released today and thanks to heavy rains in late-August, while Wright County remains in the D2 category (Severe Drought), it is no longer in the D3 (Extreme Drought) classification. The numbers of areas in the Severe, Extreme and Exceptional Drought categories are going down, but almost 59 percent of the state (including Wright County) remains in the Severe Drought designation or worse, which is down from more than 65 percent the previous week.
