BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Pennsylvania public health officials are partnering with five state parks in September to open free coronavirus vaccine clinics. The last of the five clinics is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 at Nockamixon State Park in Upper Bucks County. Free clinics are also set to pop up at Beltzville State Park in Carbon County, Shikellamy State Park in Union and Northumberland counties, Codorus State Park in York County and Keystone State Park in Westmoreland County. Union Street Studio To Open Saturday, 'Add Joy' To Doylestown State officials said they chose those five parks because they are high-use areas with easy access for vehicles and pedestrians and adequate outdoor space to run the clinics. The clinics will provide either the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Residents can receive their first shot of the Pfizer vaccine at the state-park clinics and schedule appointments to get a second shot at their nearest state health center, officials said. Residents who have already received one shot of the Pfizer vaccine can get their second dose at the clinics. Vaccines will be provided without charge. Identification and insurance are preferred but not required to receive a vaccine, officials said. Anyone who wants to get a vaccine must answer health-related questions and sign a consent form. Tom Wolf said the state-park clinics are part of his administration's efforts to increase vaccination rates across Pennsylvania. "The best and fastest way for us to protect the people in our communities who can't get vaccinated yet — including children under 12 — and to end the pandemic is to get every eligible Pennsylvanian vaccinated," Wolf said.
