UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Three different live music performances are set for Riverside Park on Sunday as part of the Conservancy's "Summer on the Hudson" series. The performances are completely free and are taking place throughout the Upper West Side section of Riverside Park. Here are the details: 2:00 p.m - DeWitt Godfrey, Stuk83rd Street at the RiverMusic: Steve Swell (trombone); Rob Brown (alto sax) 3:00 p.m. - Mary Mattingly, Riverside Reading Room91st Street at the RiverMusic: Melanie Dyer (viola); Charles Burnham (violin) 4:00 p.m. - David Shaw, Last Steps96th Street at the RiverMusic: Karen Borca (bassoon); William Parker (tuba); Newman Taylor Baker (percussion) The forecast for Sunday makes the idea of live music in the park an even better one, as it will be mostly sunny between 72 and 88 degrees with no rain expected. The three performances are all taking place at different installations throughout the park, and the timing is staggered so parkgoers that want to can attend them all. The concerts are being held in partnership with the Jazz Foundation of America, the National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and the Howard Gilman GROWTH SOUNDS Foundation. You can find out more about the Riverside Park Conservancy on its website.
