HOOVER, AL — As the 2022 fiscal year approaches, the Hoover City Council has been presented with a proposed $150 million municipal budget for 2022. Mayor Frank Brocato made the proposal Tuesday, according to the Hoover Sun.
Highlights of the proposed budget include:
Money to hire four new police officers for a new police beat at the Riverchase GalleriaFunds for three new parks and recreation maintenance workersA human resources specialist$6.6 million for road projects$2.2 million for sidewalks$2 million for public safety capital needs.The proposed 2022 budget is a 12 percent increase from the original 2021 budget but only a 6 percent increase from 2020's budget.
