Description

SUMMARY Perform general shipping and receiving duties, including FedEx, UPS, and freight deliveries. Distribute US Mail to employees. Works with Safety and Security to ensure all regulations are being followed. In addition to shipping duties, oversee general janitorial and/or custodian duties. Responsible for the overall care of the building, including shipping duties, warehouse organization, cleaning, and maintenance. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Distribution of mail, and all UPS, FedEx and other currier packages. Responsible for shipping packages, and receiving freight deliveries. • Maintain a full inventory of shipping products and materials. Organizing the warehouse. • Ability to learn and operate FedEx online shipping system. • Immediately respond to facility emergencies. • Ability to operate pallet jack, fork lift and/or reach truck. • Clean and supply designated building areas: dusting, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, etc. • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities. • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects. • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repair. • Perform routine maintenance tasks as needed. • Stock and maintain supply rooms and janitorial closets. • Deliver copy paper and supplies to various copy rooms. • Work closely with cleaning service to ensure high level of building appearance and cleanliness. EDUCATION/ YEARS EXPERIENCE • High School Diploma or equivalent • 1 or more years of janitorial and shipping experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Ability to operate various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, dolly, etc.) • Ability to perform routine /minor building repairs. • Professional demeanor, team player, ability to interface with internal and external parties at all levels. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Ability to handle multiple projects with attention to detail. • Strong organizational skills. • Integrity and ability to work independently. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. • Knowledge of and ability to apply commonly used facilities maintenance service and repairs and janitorial concepts, practices and procedures including but not limited to the use of chemicals and sanitation disposal.
