Description
A parent in Texas calls the show to detail how, with the coronavirus rages again in the state, Gov. Greg Abbott's resistance to statewide action has prevented local leaders to address the growing problems in the school systems.
I teach in TX. Teachers were told we have to use our PTO/vacation time if we have to quarantine because of COVID.
Imagine having the freedom to watch your kid get sick and have nothing to do about
Republicans have chosen insanity.
ranscript
we live in texas and last week we got
three notifications on three different
days that our kid was exposed to someone
who has tested positive for coveted
this is a school
mandating masks remote learning isn't an
option and the notifications stated that the
exposure to covet is not a valid excused
absence
whathat can't be that's not legal
uh so all these kids have been exposed
are expected they'll go to school and
spread the virus even further if the
school has stated parents uh the school
has stated parents could be cited for
truecy if not if they don't go back the
school has stated parents could be cited
for truancy this is totally getting out of control
in the school year has just begun we
don't know what to do we've tried to
find a homeschool option but we all have been
filled long but all have been filled
long ago and we both work full-time jobs
so staying home isn't an option stressed
as hell i i am so sorry i don't
that's sheer insanity i'm not sure what's happening in new
york but there is this dynamic where they don't want to have
remote learning and i don't understand why they
you know where they are who knows
um
hang in there i'm really sorry to hear
