The local Santa Cruz band, Arcane Lullaby, is seeking a new bass player. In the meantime we are seeking a replacement. All the songs are originals written by the guitarist, Jason G. and some of the songs have set bass lines that Jason can teach the new bass player who joins this band. Other songs have space for the new bass player to come up with their own bass lines. This band does not write songs together as all the songs are written by Jason, although there is room for creative input and putting your own flavor into things as well as some input into how we play some of the songs. At present we do not do any cover songs although that might happen at some point, it will only be occasional if it happens. We presently have 16 songs and they span a wide variety of genre. We are looking for a bass player who: - Likes the music we are making - Is interested in committing to being in the band (rehearsing, playing gigs, etc.) - Knows at least basic music theory (sight reading not necessary - but knowing all the notes on the fretboard and about scales, modes, etc. is necessary) - Can improvise, make up their own basslines, and can also play pre set basslines. - Is open minded, respectful, responsible, and communicates well. The initial "audition" will be an informal one on one meeting with the guitarist / songwriter.
