Illogical Rules for Washington County Convenience Centers!!

For those who take garbage to the convenience centers in Washington County: a new person has been put in charge over the convenience centers. Now the centers are enforcing rules that mandate EVERYTHING has to be in plastic bags. Their reasoning is that it takes too long for people to unload if not bagged. Please call and complain about this rule. He will tell you it has been in place long before he got that position but it has never been enforced in the 11 years we have been going to the Locust Mount center. It makes no sense logically since putting everything in boxes or garbage cans takes the same amount of time to unload if not less. Plus, requiring MORE plastic bags unnecessarily is not good for the environment. In addition they are no longer taking small amounts of home construction waste that cannot be burned. They want you to drive to the commercial dump and pay to take your few sheets of drywall (or whatever) away. IT ALL GOES TO THE SAME PLACE. We are not talking construction employees hauling their waste. These are residents of our county taking their normal garbage to the dump! Please flood their phones with complaints. They serve US. WE do not serve them. If our taxes pay for this service it better darn well serve OUR needs, not require us to purchase excessive bags and pay to dispose of our household waste FROM OUR OWN HOMES! If there is a time issue with people unloading too slowly, then post a sign that people who take too long will need to make smaller trips or be put in the back of the line. Or require them to come at non-peak times. The few who hold up the line cause all of us to be punished. It is illogical and these rules the higher ups put in place and CAN REMOVE THEM!!
