You were seated at the corner of the bar with a friend, or coworker. I was dining alone a few seats away. We made eye contact several times. As you got ready to leave, you asked him if he needed to use the bathroom. He (obliviously) said no, and you left together to meet up with other friends. You made a point of saying good night.
