Sanitation Pump Truck Operator & Fire Season Technician (Hybrid Role) ** $22/hr-$24/hr (route business) & $275/DAY (Fire Season Pay) ** Tanker & Airbrake Endorsements Required We are a small but growing company. If you join our company you would be an integral part of the team. We want to hire an ambitious individual who is a good communicator and wants to help us expand. We are a portable toilet company that has a standard year-round route business, and our seasonal business where we act as a first responder for CalFire & Department of Forestry during California WildFire Season. Please note: This is a job with growth potential that is RECESSION PROOF but it is in the Sanitation Industry. Main Requirements: - Ability to work from 36 - 40 hours per week - Must be available to be on call for California Wild Fire Season, Typically June - October annually - Must be available to deploy to fire and be on fire sites for up to 10days at a time. ** (Pay rates differ from the standard route business: fire start at $275/DAY) - Must be able respond immediately to cell phone calls, texts and emails Primary Responsibilities: - Drive a daily route to perform service on portable toilets at various customer locations throughout Los Angeles **. “Servicing" consists of pumping portable toilet tanks and replacing with fresh water, restocking toilet paper, hand towels and hand soap, removing any trash or debris, and cleaning the units with a sanitizing spray - Maintain company’s portable toilets and sinks in a sanitary and serviceable condition - Pressure wash toilets before and after a rental - Offload waste at treatment facilities several times per week - Fill out and maintain pumping log - Keep daily log of mileage, route, supplies, inventory, number of units serviced and any needed repairs/replacements - Perform daily pre-drive and post-drive inspection of the vehicle & its vacuum pump to ensure good working order and fluid levels - Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle - Monitor the mileage and health of the vehicles for purposes of periodic preventative maintenance Other Requirements - Valid CDL Class A or B w/Tanker & Airbrake Endorsements - Clean DMV record - Ability to safely drive large vehicles and tow trailers (CDLs required, if not have upon hire, must obtain) - Ability to be on call & deploy to fire sites from June- October annually, for up to 10days at a time - Have strong quality assurance and inventory control troll skills - Ability to lift 50+ lbs and maneuver/slide 150+ lbs - Ability to pass periodic drug tests - Ability to follow directions and instructions without any deviations or mistakes, but can adapt to overcome challenges and obstacles - Ability to work alone most of the day - Can work and think independently - Must be self-motivating, diligent and efficient The Ideal Candidate: - Has an OSHA 10 certification or is willing to become certified - Ability to get clearance to work on Military bases and Airports - Mechanically oriented and generally handy - Is eager to learn and master standard industry practices & new tasks - Has a desire to take on more responsibility and promote within the Company - Sees himself/herself/itself as a brand ambassador and representative for the Company - Has a genuine concern for the Company’s goals and growth - Has good customer service skills, and a desire to exceed customer expectations - Conducts himself/herself/itself in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers - Has consistently good follow through - Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules - Promotes Company’s safety standards, and does not take unnecessary or inappropriate risks - Takes pride in his/her/its work
