Study Title: Neuropsychological Sequelae of COVID-19 USF IRB #: STUDY001846 Principal Investigator: Prof. Geoffrey Potts The Psychology Department at the University of South Florida is conducting a study exploring brain activity, mind, and mood, following COVID-19. We are asking both people who have had COVID-19 and have recovered, and people who have never have COVID-19 to participate. The study consists of one visit to the USF Tampa campus lasting about 3 hours. If you participate, we will ask you to: • Fill out questionnaires about how you have been feeling lately • Complete tasks that test your cognitive abilities, such as memory • Allow us to measure your brain activity using electroencephalography (EEG), a non-invasive procedure We will pay you $30.00 per hour, $90 total, in cash at the end of your visit. During the COVID pandemic there is a risk of exposure to the virus. While we take precautions to limit this risk, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to the COVID virus. There are no other known risks to those who take part in this study. If you find that you become fatigued, notify the examiner and a break can be provided as needed. There are no other personal benefits to you. You will be contributing to overall knowledge about the impact of COVID-19 on the mind and brain. To participate you must speak English, not have a neurological disorder, not have had a head injury where you were knocked unconscious for more than 10 minutes, not have a substance abuse disorder, must abstain from mind and mood altering recreational drugs for 24 hours prior to the session, and must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision.
