On October 22nd 2021 we will do 22 push-ups on the hour every hour to raise awareness and fight against Veteran suicide. #22FORYOU A message from Anthony Closson, Owner/CEO Colossal LLC 22ForYou is dedicated to the devoted men and women of our armed forces, who after serving their country and protecting our freedom, came home and continued to fight a battle they were unable to win. The Department of Veterans Affairs Mental Health Services Suicide Prevention Program determined that 22 veterans commit suicide each day in our country resulting in thousands each year with over 80,000 having taken their lives since 2005. As a veteran myself, this statistic breaks my heart knowing that these heroes may have lacked the proper support to overcome the internal battle that was waged within. In 2015 one of my USAF brothers took his own life forcing me to take this issue to heart and confront the realities of this silent war. We as a community need to bring awareness and fight for the ones who fought for us by supporting organizations like Mission 22 who provide the resources and support that is giving hope and saving the lives of our nation’s heroes. EVENT INFORMATION: Every sponsored set of #22FORYOU push-ups will be livestreamed on our LinkedIn to raise awareness for Mission 22 and the vital programs they provide our Vets. Utilizing social distancing practices, the challenge will take place outdoors at Chesepiooc Brewery where Sponsors can join us to participate in the challenge, submit a pre-recorded video from their homes, or nominate Colossal to do their push-ups!
