You've probably tasted a beer with an off-flavor, but could you identify what the off-flavor was? In this course, you'll learn proper beer tasting technique and how to recognize some of the most common beer off-flavors!
This class will be led by Jamie Williams from Inland Island Yeast Laboratories, along with his wife, Janna Williams. Jamie and Janna formerly owned and ran CO-Brew, a homebrew supply store, small-scale brewery, and brew on premises experience. Together they have taught many Off-Flavor Classes and can't wait to share their knowledge and expertise with you!
The class will last about two hours and ten (10) different common off-flavors will be tasted:
Diacetyl
Lightstruck
Mercaptan
Metallic
Papery
Phenolic
Sour
Dimethyl Sulfide (DMS)
Butyric
H2S
