Description
Under the direction of the Property Manager, conduct general maintenance and repair work on buildings and equipment of the Agency and perform related work as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed may be required as directed by supervisory personnel.
• Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and repair of homes in assigned work zone
• Survey building and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards.
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary.
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Service and maintain swimming pool and equipment
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, etc.)
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, etc.)
• Make inspections and recommendations to determine need for repairs
• Keep time and materials records and prepare reports
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• High School diploma (Technical/Vocational)
• Attended and completed various courses including HVAC, electrical and plumbing, drywall and painting skills.
• Two years experience in a wide variety of building and residential maintenance
• Ability to make repairs on various types of equipment and building facilities requiring some knowledge of a variety of trades.
• Able to work in a cooperative manner with peers, as well as the population served by the Agency.
• Able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds unaided
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving
