Wellness is much more than just the absence of illness. Our guest speakers will share ways to take care of your mental + emotional health Join us in person or "live" from our Facebook page for "What is Wellness?" workshop! https://www.facebook.com/FoundationsChiropracticZionsville This week we will have 2 guest speakers from The Cabin joining us to speak about Mental + Emotional Wellness. It's no surprise that the past 2 years have been stressful for many of us. Mental health and wellness has been a topic that we've been discussing more and more. We are all realizing how important taking care of our mental health is for our overall wellness, but sometimes is hard to find the tools to take care of ourselves in this way. Laura Weaver, MA, LMHC is the Program Director at the Cabin Counseling & Resource Center. Laura has 16 years of experience in the field of counseling. Her experience includes therapeutic interventions for trauma, ADHD, anxiety, coping skills, emotional regulation, depression, family conflict and self-esteem. She is trained as an EMDR therapist and incorporates techniques from Adventure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in her work with each client. Hollyn Swider, MSW, LCSW earned her Bachelors in Social Work and Masters in Social Work degrees at the Indiana University School of Social Work. Her professional background includes psychotherapy in the school and private practice settings as well as psychosocial interventions in the hospital setting. She has clinical experience in helping individuals and families address issues related to family life transitions, grief and loss, domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, women's issues, caregiver burnout, medical trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, parenting concerns, behavioral concerns and emotional regulation. Hollyn primarily utilizes principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Therapy. She emphasizes a collaborative approach in problem-solving and treatment planning. She is currently training to become a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist with the Trauma-Informed Practices & Expressive Arts Therapy Institute. Hollyn believes integrating expressive arts modalities with the traditional talk therapy process can facilitate a unique form of therapeutic expression and healing. Each workshop builds on the previous session, but you don't need to have attended the last session to be in the know. Each workshop will provide you with information that you can take home and implement right away! Missed the last session and want to watch?
