3rd Annual Dyslexia Awareness Summit featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Nancy Mather, co-author of the Woodcock Johnson IV. This annual summit will benefit everyone - educators, healthcare professionals, and parents alike! Join us for a day of growth in better understanding our dyslexic children. Our keynote speaker is a co-author of the Woodcock-Johnson IV and will dive deeper into understanding this important assessment tool. This summit will also cover the impact that dyslexia has on students both in our school and at home, and what can be done to help these 1-in-5 kids succeed. Our Keynote speakers include:Connie Riser - What is Dyslexia and the Building Blocks of LearningDr. Nancy Mather - Assessment of Dyslexia: Constructs and ChallengesVarious afternoon breakout sessions include: trauma, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, Science of Reading (SoR), Orton-Gillingham, and a parent/teacher support group. CE credit available through NNU No childcare will be available for this event. Decoding Dyslexia - ID is a grassroots movement driven by Idaho families concerned with the limited access to educational interventions for dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities within our public schools. We aim to raise dyslexia awareness, empower families to support their children and inform policy-makers on best practices to identify, remediate and support students with dyslexia in Idaho public schools.
