Description

Dinner in the Warehouse features South Carolina Chef Ambassador Jamie Daskalis, Executive Chef of Johnny D's Waffles and Bakery. The second in a series of special-event dinners showcasing Certified South Carolina ingredients and the 2020-2021 South Carolina Chef Ambassadors, “Dinner in the Warehouse” features Jamie Daskalis, Executive Chef of Johnny D’s Waffles & Bakery’s three locations on the Grand Strand, drawing from her family’s own recipe box to deliver a Greek feast featuring the state’s best produce and proteins. For one night only, Conway’s Historic Peanut Warehouse, the Instagram-ready, barn-like loft that since 1900 has served Horry County’s agricultural industry, will become a lively Greek taverna, and the flavors of the Mediterranean come alive in South Carolina! As a 2020-21 South Carolina Chef Ambassador, Chef Jamie is one of four chefs chosen each year to represent the state. The Chef Ambassador program was established in 2014 to promote South Carolina as a top culinary destination, highlighting the state’s talented chefs, creative recipes, authentic cuisines, locally grown produce and unique products. The Certified South Carolina program is an exciting cooperative effort among farmers, processors, wholesalers, retailers and the South Carolina Department of Agriculture (SCDA). The Certified SC brand and label help consumers easily identify goods grown, harvested, and raised right here in the Palmetto State. Buying local not only means people enjoy fresher, tastier, and healthier foods at home, it also means they support our state’s farmers and the network of businesses that nurture agriculture in South Carolina.
