Textile Collection at Transfer Station - This Saturday, September 11th BayState Textiles will have a truck at the Medfield Transfer Station this Saturday, September 11th from 9am - 4pm. Volunteers will be on hand to help unload your car. We welcome your textile donations! Baystate has partnered with Medfield Schools and the Transfer Station to handle unwanted textiles so as to eliminate their entering the waste stream. 95% percent will be used, mostly sent to developing countries.45% percent are used as is, twenty percent are remade into usable items, 30% percent are made into wiping cloths (Medfield Transfer Station uses these). Only 5% need to be trashed. The collection will include all items of clothing, accessories, footwear, linens, stuffed animals, rags, and throw rugs smaller than 2' by 4'.
