HUNTINGTON, NY — Book Revue, Huntington's iconic bookstore, plans to go out with a bang. The longtime shop announced it will reopen on Friday to dole out free books before its permanent closure. "We are not sure yet how long these free books will be availabale but we will let you know as soon as we decide," Richard Klein, who co-founded the store in 1977, wrote on Facebook. Book Revue attempted to contact charities and organizations to accept free books, but it didn't find much success. Residents who know of any organizations that could use the free books are encouraged to reach out to them. Book Revue owes its landlord more than $400,000 and can't stay in business, News 12 Long Island reported. In August, Book Revue announced its closure, marking the end of a decades-long community staple. Café Revue is due to stay open through Sept. 14, according to Klein.
