Description

FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham police are investigating a hate incident after two swastikas were found carved on a sign at Temple Beth Sholom on Thursday morning. The discovery by passersby at the Pamela Road temple was made in between two of the most important Jewish holidays. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year celebration, ended Wednesday. Yom Kippur begins in the evening on Sept. 15. Mayoral candidate Charlie Sisitsky called the timing of the vandalism "distressing." "It is important to be constantly vigilant to ensure that hateful acts like this do not happen to any members of our community, and that we, as members of this community, speak out against any acts of intolerance and hatred," he said in a news release. Framingham police are seeking tips from anyone who may have witnessed the vandalism. Residents can contact police at 508-872-1212.
