Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia in the assembly room of what is now known as Independence Hall.
Join us Thursday evening, September 16 at 6:30 pm for a lecture and discussion on this important living document. Click here to register.Daniel Mueller, Ph.D., Lecturer in the Department of Humanities from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and LCDR Nicole Blanchard, Assistant Professor, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, will be providing us with a historical overview of the Constitution and its ongoing importance to the rights and obligations of citizens in the United States. There will be an opportunity for questions and discussion. COVID-permitting*, this will be an in-person event in the Library's lower level Meeting Room. We invite teens and adults to this enlightening and timely program. Please register to ensure your seat and to be kept informed should the program transition to online. *It will be offered on Zoom should current COVID conditions preclude us from meeting in-person.
