I play rhythm/lead/guitar/slide/dobro, bass, sing and write and record my own tunes. I've been playing for about 30 years about half of that as a gigging musician. I'm into blues, stuff like Howlin' Wolf. Jimmie Vaughan and RL & Cedric Burnside as well as early Rock-n-Roll and Americana/rockabilly Johnny Cash Gene Vincent and artists like John Fogerty, and Dwight Yoakam, The Fabulous T-Birds with my own focus and style on gospel based lyrics. I also really like guitar/drum duo based bands like early Black Keys and bands that groove like the Funky Meters, James Brown, Mavis Staples as well as 90's bands Beck Hansen and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. I also dig that old garage rock vibe like Link Wray the Sonics and the Cramps and Jack White...so a lot of diversity and potential. I'm good at working with a drummer's strengths and writing around what works best for us together. I have a shared studio in San Rafael with a nice early 80's Ludwig kit that is available weekly during weekday afternoons and some Saturday afternoons. I have a nice digital multi-track recorder and drum mics. My goal is to jam for ideas and collaborate, write songs and record and put our finished songs online. At the very least it gives you something to add to your musical resume. I have a good work ethic and I am good at coming up with new ideas and turning them into songs. I do not currently want to play out and gig with the way things are at the moment with my wife being immune compromised. I am fully vaccinnated. Just want to get creative again.
