STAMFORD, CT — Efforts to replace a 2o-inch raw water pipeline between parts of Stamford and Greenwich were delayed further due to flooding caused by Tropical Storm Ida, Hearst Connecticut Media reported. "Floodwater from a stream running near Farms Road spilled over the culvert that funnels water under the street during Ida's descent onto lower Fairfield County, washing out dirt and pavement from the road and causing temporary closures nearby," the newspaper reported. However, Aquarion Water Company spokesman Peter Fazekas told Hearst CT that workers only "lost a few days (of work) because of the storm" and that company still expects the project will be finished by the end of the month.
