Press release from Arlington Independent School District: 2021-09-09 The Arlington Master Chorale will commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11 with a memorial concert at the Arlington ISD Center for Visual and Performing Arts this Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.   The all-volunteer chorus, led by their music director Randy Jackson and collaborative pianist Dr. Jane Silvey Andrews, will perform twice on Saturday, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Jackson, a former director of music at Martin High School for 23 years, is overjoyed to perform at the CVPA.   "This facility was done right," Jackson said. "The design and acoustics of the center are outstanding. It is marvelous and is the epitome of fine arts for Arlington ISD."  The concert will include a performance of Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, Requiem for the Living by Dan Forrest and a world premiere by Elaine Hagenberg titled Illuminare. Dr. Allen Hightower will be guest conductor of the Requiem, and composer Hagenberg will be in attendance.  "People will not only remember this concert because it is the 20th anniversary of the tragedy of Sept. 11 but also for the meaning behind each musical number. It will be something the city of Arlington will be proud of," Jackson said.  Tickets are free but required. To reserve yours, visit arlingtonmasterchorale.com/new-events.   This press release was produced by Arlington Independent School District.
