JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City officials will break ground on Friday and start work on the city's new St. Lucy's Homeless Center.
The move marks a significant expansion of one of the largest and longest-standing homeless shelters in New Jersey, St. Lucy's of Jersey City. The 60,000 square foot homeless services facility will have 165 beds, 14 units of transitional housing for individuals with HIV, five permanent supportive housing units for families, and 15 individual affordable housing studio apartments.
The new St. Lucy's shelter site will offer emergency and transitional offerings, along with affordable housing solutions and comprehensive supportive services for individuals and families who are homeless.
