Hoboken Italian Festival: Here Are The Hours Through Sunday

HOBOKEN, NJ — The Hoboken Italian Festival, otherwise known as the Feast of the Madonna dei Matiri, kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday. It will include food, games, entertainment, and vendor booths. The history of the festival dates back over 600 years. "It was in the year 1399, on the orders of the King of Napoli, Ladislao di Durazzo that the Street Festival and Religious celebration were first combined to celebrate the 'Miracle' and blessings of the Madonna," says the website. "This celebration is traditionally held on September 8, which is the Universal Feast of the Nativity of Mary." Read more here. Thursday: 7-10 p.m.Friday: 6-11 p.m.: "Ciao USA Music Event" with several concerts.Saturday: 12-11 p.m.: Feast DaySunday: 12-9 p.m.: Music and a grape stomp contest.
