MERRIMACK, NH—Merrimack Police say a man was arrested twice over the course of several hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Police say David Palmore, 34, was identified as a suspect after police a call about a possible drunk driver near the Maple Ridge Condominiums on Wednesday around 10:45 p.m. A Merrimack officer found a "heavily damaged vehicle" on the side of the road. Palmore approached the officer and was reportedly acting belligerent. Merrimack Police say officers "were able to determine" Palmore had driven the damaged vehicle. He resisted arrest when officers tried to take him into custody.
Police say they charged Palmore with resisting detention and driving while intoxicated after determining he had been drinking. He was released on personal recognizance bail, with the stipulation he must not commit any more crimes, shortly after 1 a.m. A sober driver came to pick him up.
According to police, Palmore did not want to get in the vehicle. Officers told him he would be taken into protective custody if he tried to walk home. Police say he ignored officers' warnings and resisted them when they tried to take him into custody. He was then charged with resisting arrest and breach of bail, processed, and released on another personal recognizance bail.
Palmore is scheduled to appear before the Merrimack 9th Circuit Court on September 28.
