Description
CANONSBURG, PA — Canon-McMillan High School students were evacuated from the building and then were dismissed early from classes after a bomb threat was phoned in to the school Thursday morning.
With police and fire officials still searching the building, students were dismissed from the school stadium at 11:30 a.m. after being evacuated there when the threat was made.
Student drivers did not have access to their vehicles and were taken home by school bus. Students with personal items in the school were not immediately able to enter the building.
Canon-McMillan was the site of a contentious school board meeting Tuesday evening that had to be adjourned when many in attendance who weren't wearing masks refused to put them on. The state has required people to wear face coverings in all school buildings to lessen the risk of COVID-19 spread.
