NAPERVILLE, IL — More than 200 drivers were ticketed for speeding and other violations during a recent speeding enforcement campaign in Naperville.
The campaign, which lasted throughout August, netted 179 speeding tickets. "A number of drivers" were also cited for aggravated speeding, driving with no license, or driving with a suspended license, according to a news release.
"We know that speed is one of the main factors contributing to crashes in our jurisdiction," Naperville Police Sgt. Rick Krakow said in the news release.
Krakow added, "Through campaigns like this one, we're stopping dangerous driving practices where we can, educating motorists to obey the posted speed limit and ultimately making our roadways safer."
