Two Suspects Sought in Fairfax District Armed Robbery

LOS ANGELES — Authorities today were seeking two men who robbed customers at gunpoint at a restaurant sidewalk dining area in the Fairfax District this week. The crime occurred about 4:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 7300 block of Melrose Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Security video shows the suspects in hoodies, one armed with a gun, as they approached the diners and took various items from them, including purses, wallets and shopping bags. No suspect descriptions were available. No injuries were reported, according to the LAPD. According to ABC7.com, local residents and business owners have seen a rise in crime in the Fairfax District, a popular shopping area. In August, a store employee at Shoe Palace, in the Fairfax District, was shot and killed after a dispute over a raffle. Police later arrested a 16-year-old suspect. In March, a man was robbed at gunpoint on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. In February, there were reports of several people having their Rolex watches taken while they were walking along Melrose.
