Replace Buhrer Pedestrian Bridge? ODOT Wants Your Input

CLEVELAND — The Buhrer Avenue pedestrian bridge over I-71 could soon be getting replaced. The Ohio Department of Transportation has proposed closing the bridge and building a replacement. To do that, the bridge would need to be closed for eight months. Construction would also lead to lane closures on I-71 during off-peak hours. Work wouldn't begin until 2024, ODOT said. A detailed project schedule would be released to the public in spring 2022. The total estimated cost of the project is $1.3 million. Before the project lurches forward, ODOT wants public input on the construction.
