CHARLOTTE, NC — A security guard has been arrested and is accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile he was transporting to a Charlotte medical facility, Charlotte police said Thursday.
David Logan Marsh, 31, was charged with statutory rape greater than 6 years; statutory sex offense; two counts of sexual activity by a custodian; and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
According to a police account, Marsh was on duty Sept. 6 as a guard employed by G4S security company when he transported a juvenile under an Involuntary Commitment Order from a medical facility in Rowan County to a medical facility in Charlotte.
"During the transport, Marsh engaged in a sexual act with the victim," CMPD said. The victim disclosed the incident to a medical professional, which prompted an investigation by the Crimes Against Children Unit.
Following an interview with investigators Wednesday, Marsh was arrested and transferred to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing and said that anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 9-1-1, or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
